please come back!

"onje hanbon toolesayo"... please come back and visit us again!

today skyler, a girl from work who's been a gift from God, and myself (emily) visited our local orphanage. 52 kids snuggled inside a warm building full of televisions and toys, books and music. 52 children wondering where their parents have gone.

one little girl insisted her mom was coming back from china to get her... a boy clung to me tightly, reading me books and teasing me with sparkling eyes and tricks. we brought candy and snacks and tried to feed them with temporal love, but for these children, everything is too temporal. they need a constant in their lives.

"please come back" ... a cry meant not only for our ears, but for those of their families who left long ago. please keep these children in your prayers.

Hey Girl!
What beautiful children -- heartbreaking to think that alot of the parents prob. don't think of the children they left -- or perhaps they do...all you can do is just keep loving and praying. I think you do that very well =) I need to challenge myself to do the same...
Have a good rest of your weekend --
Love, A.

Hey Em:)

What precious children--heartbreaking. Thanks for reminding me to pray for those around me--need to lift my gaze to the needs around.

Love you!

ohhh .. how we take our heritage and families for granted. For many, love is just not a reality in their lives. It must be so painful. So give thanks every day for the gift of friendship and love in our lives and in our hearts.

On that note, we LOVE you both!

If it were easy to adopt, I could easily take two children. I have enough room and love to give. It's just not that easy.

Em,
I was in a car accident this week. I posted about it on my blog. I thought of you on the way to the hotel. Thanks so much for being there for me with your words of encouragement. I went to a Korean church last night to help my auntie celebrate a friend's birthday. I plan to go back soon. Thank you.

That is so good that you took the chance to offer these children what love you could, as temporal as it is. In experiencing first hand their need for love, you have now become a voice for them, crying out for their lost parents or for someone new to take them into their arms.
