folk village fun

while the sun was still rising saturday morning, we bussed into seoul and met up with mom and the sisters. from there we took another bus to Yong-In, the town hosting Korea's famous Folk Village. we experienced elderly men on tightropes, young girls leaping from teeter-totters, a korean play, old fashioned homes and gardens, exhibits featuring korean history, a phenomenal equestrian show, and an elaborate amusement park. the leaves are turning and the air is frosted with the promise of winter, but our spirits were warmed by the highlights of the day.
that night we rested our heads in a bed and breakfast, then joined pastor John Gurnett in seoul's second biggest church (attended by a total of 50,000) for a 2 p.m. english service. he then escorted us to a dinner of chinese noodles and mandu (korean dumplings) after which we took the train to wonju, leaving the family behind to continue their venture on to singapore and eventually, home.

It looks like you showed Mom and the Aunts a great time. I'm sure it was hard for everyone to say goodbye! I'm so excited for her to get home and see what she bought, her pictures and hear her adventures.
Have a look at my blog to see pics of the new "kids".

Hi Em and Trent;

How sweet to spend time with your Mom and Aunties !! Great pictures, but I still did not see Marge on the scooter. What is that!!???? And now they are on their way again. I know you will miss them very much. And you get to enjoy the goodies they brought your way. Must have been sweet too.

Take good care. Enjoy your days with each other. And may you daily feel God's presence and always know that He heals, mends, restores, cures, and renews. Blessings on your lives.

Love, Auntie D and family
